Over the past two decades, numerous efforts have been made to facilitate cultural exchanges between the Western and Eastern worlds. The anniversary festival program showcases compositions by renowned Viennese Classical composers, including Mozart and Beethoven.

It also delves into the evolution of French and Italian music, exploring impressionism, modernism, and neoclassicism. The culmination of the festival will immerse you in the masterpieces of romanticism by Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss.

The festival consists of 4 concerts in the span of 3 days, 3-5 November 2023, at Raffles Hotel Le Royal:

Festive Opening - Friday, 3rd November at 7pm

The festival kicks off with a grand "Festive Opening" on Friday, November 3rd, at 7pm at Raffles Hotel - Le Royal. The evening will feature captivating works by the celebrated Viennese Classical composers Mozart and Beethoven. Leading the musical journey is the Chamber Music Ensemble from Silpakorn University in Bangkok. The spotlight will shine on Beethoven's quintet for piano and wind instruments and Mozart's quintet for piano and wind instruments.

Matinée - Saturday, 4th November at 11 am

On Saturday, November 4th, a delightful matinée performance awaits you at Raffles Hotel - Le Royal. Maria Ivana Oliva, a gifted guitarist, will grace the stage. This musical journey will include Paganini's "La Campanella" and Giuliani's "Variations on a theme of Handel." The program continues with Verdi's "Fantasia sui temi de La Traviata," Simone Iannarelli's delightful "Italian Coffee," compositions by Giorgio Tortora and Daniel Fortea, adding an international flavor to the experience.

On Saturday evening, November 4th, at 7pm, prepare for a mesmerizing "Soirée" at Raffles Hotel - Le Royal. The program, titled 'Un Parcours Musical,' is a panorama of 100 years of French music development through the 20th century. Experience the diverse and distinctive styles of celebrated French composers such as Ravel and Debussy with their masterpieces of impressionism, as well as further musical developments like modernism, neo-classicism, and contemporary music.

Grand Finale - Sunday, 5th November at 6 pm

Concluding the festival is the grand "Finale" on Sunday, November 5th, at 6pm at Raffles Hotel - Le Royal. This evening promises to be a musical treat with cello sonatas by Beethoven and Richard Strauss. Steven Retallick, on the cello, and Loo Bang Hean, on the piano, will perform Beethoven's sonata in F major, Op. 5 No. 1, and Strauss's cello sonata, composed when he was just 19 years old.
